In The Woods: Kevin Welch feat. Bart de Win

In the Woods is a non-profit seated concert series at Fort33, dedicated to quality and attention for the artist.

This edition features Kevin Welch with Bart de Win. Since the 1990s, Welch has built a broad fanbase - including Barack Obama - and his collaborations with Kieran Kane are considered milestones in Americana country-folk. He has released approximately fourteen albums, most through Dead Reckoning Records, the label he co-founded in Nashville in the mid-1990s with Kieran Kane and Fats Kaplin. Rolling Stone called him "one of the best songwriters in America"; All Music wrote: "Welch's songs sprawl out like great, open flatlands, mixing elements of folk, country, and rock in a captivating way." He is mentioned alongside singer-songwriters such as David Olney, Rodney Crowell and Steve Earle, all strongly influenced by Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark.

During the Covid pandemic, Welch moved to Australia for personal reasons, where he has since performed regularly along the east coast and in New Zealand. His last performance in Europe or the United States was in 2019.
