After Fransje Hermans ends up in a wheelchair following a bizarre accident, his life in the sleepy village of Lomark seems to come to a standstill. He can no longer move or speak, and has only one functioning arm. That changes when the charismatic and reckless newcomer Joe Speedboot arrives and strikes up an unlikely friendship with him. Does Joe help Fransje pursue his dreams and satisfy his longing for the enchanting PJ - or is Fransje just another adventure for Joe?
