About: Mahsa Vahdat

Raised in Tehran and trained at its arts university, Mahsa Vahdat was pushed onto the international stage by Iran's ban on women singing solo in public. Her voice - steeped in the Iranian classical tradition and shaped by collaborations with musicians from many different cultures - turns each performance into a meeting between centuries-old Sufi texts and the present day.

About: Tord Gustavsen

Over more than two decades on ECM, Norwegian pianist Tord Gustavsen has shaped a sound all his own - spare, meditative trio music that draws equally from jazz, gospel and Norwegian sacred tradition. His tenth ECM album, Seeing (2024), shows that restraint and depth still go hand in hand.
