Description was written before the event

On Sunday 13 September, Ensemble Vijf! performs at Van Cappellenhuis in Capelle aan den IJssel with a programme centred on Rimsky-Korsakov's Sheherazade. Titled Duizend-en-één nacht (A Thousand and One Nights), the concert weaves together tales of love, heroism and oriental mystery. The ensemble pairs Rimsky-Korsakov with works by Satie and Tierssen. This is one of two Dutch dates on the ensemble's schedule this season; a second performance takes place in Eefde in November.
