Choir Singing Souls has 25 members and sings a broad repertoire - from world music and classical to popular listening music - in multiple languages: Dutch, English, Swedish, Spanish, Zulu and Latin. Songs such as "De Zee", "Spirit of the Wind", "Vem kan segla", "De noche i remos", "Siyahamba" and Giulio Caccini's "Ave Maria" are performed. Conductor Celina Schrotz, affiliated with the Charles Vermeer Singing Institute, accompanies the choir on piano; in some pieces choir members also play djembe, guitar, recorder or sea drum. The choir rehearses every Wednesday from 10.30 to 12.30 at the CVZI, Fluiterlaan 400 in Capelle aan den IJssel. More information: www.charlesvermeer.nl (tab 'choirs').

Vertelkring Delft presents a preview of their anniversary performance. Storytellers Nanny, Francine and Iris bring the fairy-tale paintings of Victor Hartmann - once the inspiration for Mussorgsky's famous musical cycle - back to life through stories. Each story lasts approximately 10 minutes. During a story, entry and exit are not possible, but between stories there is room to enter or leave.

Piano students of Philip Huang - Philip Huang has a large piano teaching practice in Capelle. His students, some still very young, perform pieces from their own repertoire.
