Maarten Westra Hoekzema knows that feeling all too well. He stood in an apple costume on the set of a commercial, cooked authentic Dutch food at the request of his Belgian in-laws to prove that the Dutch do have taste, and babysat his niece for a long weekend to get a preview of fatherhood.

One awkward moment after another - and this show is full of them. Yet Maarten always reaches the same conclusion: thank goodness I said yes. Because how colourless would his life have been if he had always said no?
