Lying Concert: Canto Ostinato, Geertekerk Utrecht

Pianist Jeroen van Veen - a longtime friend of composer Simeon ten Holt - performs Canto Ostinato for the first time solo in Utrecht's Geertekerk. The work comprises 106 sections, with the performer deciding what to play and how it sounds. This means every concert is unique in its choices and emotions.

This is a lying concert®: the audience experiences the full evening work lying down, in the warm acoustics of the Geertekerk. Actress Carice van Houten wrote about it in her column for Nieuwe Revu: "They say you experience it like a train journey, crossing multiple landscapes... Ninety minutes later I stepped off the train. Absolutely blissful."
