Friends of Jan Rot Present Rotmiddag Part 3

Until what would have been Jan Rot's 70th birthday on 25 December 2027, the Friends of Jan Rot sing and play the songs that best suited Jan and themselves. De Amer has welcomed them twice before; this third edition is the Grand Finale, with a special guest.

The group performs music in the spirit of Jan Rot, the master translator and musician who passed away in 2022. His best-known translations are performed, with song lyrics projected so the audience can sing along. The programme combines pop songs, tearjerkers and favourite songs - laughter and emotion alternate.

The driving force is Marjolein Meijers (known from De Berini's), who performed with Jan for over twenty years as the duo An and Jan. She takes the stage with pianist Jakob Klaasse, multi-instrumentalist Walter Kuipers and accordionist Onno Kuipers. Together they fulfil Jan's explicit wish: "Just make a nice programme with my songs when I'm no longer here."
