JB Meijers
Jan-Bart "JB" Meijers is a singer, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and producer with over 40 years of experience on national and international stages and in the studio. The general public knows him primarily as a member of The Common Linnets, but over the years he has also performed with De Dijk, Mercury Rev, Anastacia and Barry Hay. As a producer, he has worked with Tröckener Kecks, Frank Boeijen, Daryll-Ann, Carice van Houten, Howe Gelb/Giant Sand and Acda en De Munnik, among others.
Since autumn 2025, JB has been performing on stage with his trio, presenting new solo work following a new solo album. On its creation: "I had read 5000 newspapers, a bag with a guitar, energy for 1500 police horses and little appetite for hibernation. I simply sat down and by the end of December 2024 I had 15 songs that I expected would be enormously eclectic as usual. The opposite turned out to be true and I noticed that this time I had a strong need to convey a message."
The thread running through the album is JB's reflections on the current times. "I'm not pointing fingers, but I increasingly ask myself: am I crazy or has everyone gone crazy? This record is my yearning for truth. That resulted in my sharpest guitar album to date. That wasn't a conscious choice, but it is what it is: the aesthetics of drums, bass and two guitars proves, especially in these times, to be an inexhaustible source." The first two singles 'Canvas Horizon' and 'Forgotten By Rock 'n Roll' were released earlier this year and received much positive feedback.
