Ellen ten Damme

Ellen ten Damme brings a try-out of her new show Medusa to Cultureel Café De Amer. On stage with pianist Thijs Cuppen, she explores the core of her new repertoire.

The programme features her own compositions - including the single Rare Dingen (written with Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer) - alongside work by Kate Bush and Nina Hagen. Ellen sings in Dutch, German, French and ancient Greek, exploring the many faces of Medusa: sacred or pagan, sexy or tough? Cuppen's keyboard work colours the diverse songs.

As a singer, actress, dancer and musician, Ellen ten Damme deliberately breaks with musical conventions in Medusa. The try-out in Amen is one of the first opportunities to see this show.
