The Advent is the project of London-based Portuguese-British producer and DJ Cisco Ferreira, founded in 1993 alongside Colin McBean (alias Mr G). The duo forged a hard, metallic techno sound rooted in the Detroit tradition, releasing on labels including Internal, Tresor and Klockworks. After McBean's departure Ferreira continued as a solo act, remaining one of underground techno's most prolific figures across three decades. He also works in electro, most recently alongside his son Zein Ferreira.
Ferreira performed a techno DJ set at the SECTION event, recorded and published via YouTube in August 2026.
The Advent appeared on the compilation TECH035, compiled by ANNĒ, with a new track.
The Advent and Zein Ferreira released Elektronically Minded PT2 on Cultivated Electronics, the sequel to the eponymous EP from 2024.
Ferreira released multiple EPs in 2025, including Passive Aggressive (on Truncate), Coordinated Beatdown and Gravity Won't Hold Me.
The Advent and his son Zein Ferreira debuted together with the electro EP Elektronically Minded on Cultivated Electronics.
