Sirico is a Dutch duo of Omar Abu El-Hana and Omar Shendy, pairing oud and piano. Their programme The New Wave of Arabic Music draws on classics by Umm Kulthum and Fairuz alongside work by younger Arabic composers. Through their own arrangements and improvisation, shaped by contemporary chamber music, they give familiar melodies an intimate, expressive voice.
