Rostam Batmanglij, known simply as Rostam, is a Washington D.C.-born musician, producer and songwriter of Iranian descent. A founding member of Vampire Weekend, he produced the band's first three albums - including the number-one record Contra - before launching a solo career that has yielded three studio albums: Half-Light (2017), Changephobia (2021) and American Stories (2026). He has also produced acclaimed records for HAIM, Carly Rae Jepsen and Leith Ross, and holds a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album for Modern Vampires of the City.
