Nouvelle Vague
French post-punk duo Nouvelle Vague performs at Paradiso.
Nouvelle Vague is a French music project that reinterprets post-punk and new wave classics as bossa nova and lounge arrangements. Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux founded it in 2003; their self-titled debut album (2004) sold over half a million copies worldwide. Libaux passed away in September 2021, but Collin continues the project with a rotating cast of female vocalists including Camille, Mélanie Pain and Phoebe Killdeer. The 2024 album *Should I Stay or Should I Go?* marked the band's twentieth anniversary.
Nouvelle Vague released the new single 'Enjoy the Silence' in 2026.
The band announced a worldwide tour for 2025 to celebrate 21 years after the debut album, with two shows at London's KOKO.
The album *Should I Stay or Should I Go?* was released on 16 February 2024 via [PIAS] and contains thirteen bossa nova covers of eighties hits.
Nouvelle Vague performed in Brighton in March 2024 as part of the twenty-year anniversary tour.
Co-founder Olivier Libaux died on 29 September 2021 at the age of 57; Marc Collin continues the project.
