Pink Martini is an American orchestral pop band from Portland, Oregon, founded in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale. Blending jazz, classical, Latin and world music in more than twenty-five languages, the group calls itself a 'little orchestra'. Their 1997 debut Sympathique brought international recognition and nominations at France's Victoires de la Musique; with over three million albums sold and performances on six continents, they remain one of the most eclectic live acts around.
