Discophonic Orchestra is a 30-piece ensemble that performs the greatest disco hits from the 1970s and 1980s live. The orchestra consists of 10 string players, 6 wind players, a rhythm section and 7 vocalists, and performs works by artists such as Donna Summer, Barry White, Earth, Wind & Fire and Kool & the Gang.

The orchestra was founded in 2014 by jazz trombonist and arranger Lex van Wel, who wanted to bring the orchestral and rhythmic richness of classic disco to the stage.
