LSD and the Search for God is a psychedelic shoegaze band from San Francisco, founded in 2005 by guitarists Chris Fifield and Andy Liszt. The name comes from William Braden's 1967 book The Private Sea: LSD and the Search for God. On the strength of just two EPs - their self-titled debut (2007) and Heaven Is a Place (2016) - they have earned cult status in the international underground and are widely cited as a key influence on the contemporary shoegaze revival.
The band plays an extensive European tour in October 2026, with shows in Amsterdam (Paradiso), Rotterdam (Rotown), Groningen (Vera), Brussels and multiple British cities.
In January 2026 the band toured the US, with new vocalist E. Scarlett Levinson as an addition to the lineup.
On 21 November 2025 Heaven Is a Place was released as a deluxe vinyl reissue via Don Giovanni Records, in a limited 'Blue Dream' pressing of 3000 copies.
The self-titled debut EP from 2007 was re-released on 22 August 2025 on CD and vinyl via Don Giovanni Records.
Around the reissues the band confirmed they were working on new material.
