Gilles Peterson is a British-French DJ and broadcaster who started out on pirate radio in London as a teenager. He was a key figure in the acid jazz movement and founded the labels Talkin' Loud and Brownswood Recordings. His long-running BBC Radio 6 Music show and the annual Worldwide Festival in Sète reflect a taste that spans soul, jazz, funk and music from across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
