Evanescence is an American rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas, founded in 1995 by vocalist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. Blending heavy guitars with classical and symphonic elements, they broke through worldwide with debut album Fallen (2003) and the hit "Bring Me to Life". With over 37 million equivalent album sales and two Grammy Awards, they rank among the most recognised acts in gothic metal and alternative rock. In 2026 they released their long-awaited sixth studio album Sanctuary via BMG and Columbia Records.
