The Birthday Massacre are a Canadian gothic rock and darkwave band formed in 1999 in London, Ontario, now based in Toronto. Led by vocalist Sara 'Chibi' Taylor alongside guitarists Michael Rainbow and Michael Falcore, they broke through with Violet (2005) and have since built a devoted international following. Their sound layers dark synthesizers and heavy guitars beneath Chibi's clear vocals, and the band retains full artistic control through their label Metropolis Records.
The Birthday Massacre performed in August 2026 at the M'era Luna festival in Hildesheim, the twenty-sixth edition of the event.
The band announced the 'Cursed Blessings' tour, their first mainland European tour since the release of Pathways, co-headlining with Wednesday 13.
The thirteen British shows of the Pathways tour were largely sold out, including Glasgow, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Bedford and London.
The tenth studio album Pathways was released on 11 April 2025 via Metropolis Records, with singles 'Sleep Tonight' and 'All of You'.
The Birthday Massacre started a 29-city North American tour on 28 March 2025 in support of Pathways.
