Lacuna Coil is an Italian gothic metal band from Milan, active since 1994. The interplay between vocalists Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro has always been the band's defining feature, anchoring a sound that blends heavy riffs with melodic, atmospheric songwriting. Breakthrough albums Comalies and Karmacode brought them international recognition, and Dark Adrenaline (2012) peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200. They won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best Live Act in 2018.
Lacuna Coil announced a US spring tour for 2026, together with Escape the Fate, under the name Sleepless Empire US Tour.
The band released an official music video for 'Hosting the Shadow', featuring footage from their performance at the Aftershock festival in October 2025, with Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe on stage.
Sleepless Empire, the band's tenth studio album, was released on February 14, 2025 via Century Media Records and reached position 28 on the British album chart.
Guitarist Diego Cavallotti left the band in June 2024; Daniele Salomone (from the band Inverno) took his place as touring guitarist.
The band performed on November 3, 2025 in Berlin (Huxleys Neue Welt) as part of their European tour in support of Sleepless Empire.
