Barrett Martin (born 1967 in Olympia, Washington) is an American drummer, producer, and ethnomusicologist best known for his work with Seattle grunge bands Screaming Trees and Mad Season in the 1990s. As a producer he won a Latin Grammy for the Brazilian album *Jardim-Pomar* by Nando Reis (2017), and his session credits span more than 150 albums, including records by R.E.M., Queens of the Stone Age, and Stone Temple Pilots. He has also written four books on music and culture, with his Screaming Trees memoir *The Greatest Band That Ever Wasn't* (2023) becoming his best-selling title.
