About: Piano and String Quartet

A single-movement work of roughly eighty minutes, this piano quintet is considered by many the peak of Feldman's output - built from soft, near-repeating chords and long sustained tones that gradually reshape the listener's sense of time. Feldman completed it just two years before his death, with the Kronos Quartet and pianist Aki Takahashi in mind.
