About: Danae Dörken

Born in Wuppertal to a German-Greek family, Danae Dörken came under Yehudi Menuhin's wing at an early age and has since built a career spanning solo recitals, chamber music and orchestral stages across Europe and beyond. Her project with vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher brought her a 2025 Opus Klassik award, and her latest album pays tribute to Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis.

Luxembourgish vibraphonist and composer Pascal Schumacher has long worked at the intersection of jazz and contemporary classical music. His collaboration with pianist Danae Dörken on the music of Philip Glass earned the duo the 2025 Opus Klassik, the most prestigious classical music prize in the German-speaking world.
