Danae Dörken (born 1991 in Wuppertal) is a German-Greek pianist who gained the support of Yehudi Menuhin at age seven and went on to study with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Lars Vogt at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. She performs as a soloist with orchestras including the Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Munich Symphony Orchestra, appearing at venues such as Wigmore Hall, the Elbphilharmonie and the Konzerthaus Vienna. Alongside her solo career she regularly performs piano-duo with her sister Kiveli Dörken, and her 2024 collaboration with vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher, Glass Two, earned them the 2025 Opus Klassik award. In 2015 the two sisters founded the Molyvos International Music Festival on the Greek island of Lesbos.
Danae Dörken released the album 'Theodorakis: Helikon' in June 2025 on Berlin Classics, a tribute to Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis on the occasion of his hundredth birthday on 29 July 2025.
Danae Dörken and Pascal Schumacher received the Opus Klassik Award in October 2025 in the New Classic/Neoclassic category for their album 'Glass Two'.
Dörken performed on 11 October 2025 at the St. Elisabethkirche in Berlin as part of the Opus Klassik weekend, together with Pascal Schumacher.
The album 'Glass Two', a collaboration with Luxembourg vibraphonist and composer Pascal Schumacher featuring music by Philip Glass and Schumacher himself, was released in late 2024.
