The Discovery of Heaven

In 2001, The Discovery of Heaven drew over 500,000 viewers to Dutch cinemas. A quarter century later, the film returns to the big screen - this time in 4K.

God has had enough of humanity and wants to break his covenant with the earth. To bring the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments back to heaven, angels set an ingenious plan in motion: they begin to steer the lives of people on earth. The linguist Onno Quist and the astrologer Max Delius meet in the 1960s. The two become inseparable friends and eventually share their love for cellist Ada Brons. From this love triangle, Quinten is born - a boy with an exceptional destiny.

The story - based on Harry Mulisch's novel - weaves friendship, love, faith and fate together, spanning generations and continents. Starring Stephen Fry, Greg Wise, Flora Montgomery and Jeroen Krabbé.
