3x3 Eyes (1991): Kaboom Anime

Kaboom Animation Festival and Melkweg present Toei Animation's film adaptation of Yuzo Takada's manga series 3x3 Eyes. The OVA blends teenage romance with supernatural adventure and plenty of blood - this is the nineties, after all, and Yakumo happens to be immortal. The central plot: help the cute three-eyed demon become human.

The four episodes were directed by Daisuke Nishio (episodes one, three and four), known for Dragon Ball Z, and Kazuhisa Takenouchi (episode two), who would later direct the Daft Punk project Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.

Melkweg runs multiple programmes simultaneously - concerts, club nights and films. Be aware that sound from other rooms may be audible during the screening.
