Kruidkoek + Joost Oomen

Poetry boring? Kruidkoek and Joost Oomen think not. They throw punk jazz, absurdism and childlike overconfidence at it - think Jules Deelder, think Anthony Szmierek, think Villa Achterwerk with an extra splash of something else. Bananas are fired, a pudding is attacked with a saw and you dive headfirst into the fruit pulp.

Joost Oomen (1990) is considered the most notorious performance poet of the Netherlands and has performed on stages from Cape Town to Schiermonnikoog, from Zwarte Cross to Into the Great Wide Open. Kruidkoek destroyed many a stage as a hyperactive punk jazz formation and proved in passing that complicated conservatory music is indeed suitable for getting drunk to.

Since 2019 they have been ramming poetry and jazz down the throats of the Dutch public. The funny thing: nobody complains. There have even been people spotted who can recite the poems word for word.
