The Lemonheads (USA) + Whipster (GRN)

The Lemonheads are one of the most influential bands of 1990s alternative rock, driven by Evan Dando's warm voice and melodic finesse. Classics like "Into Your Arms", "If I Could Talk I'd Tell You" and their cover of "Mrs. Robinson" - whose music video was filmed in Groningen - secured the band a lasting place in collective memory.

In October they take the stage at VERA for the sixth time, this time with Love Chant: their first album of new, original material in nearly twenty years. Dando found fresh inspiration in Brazil, where much of the album was recorded. The record sounds familiar, yet explores new directions with fresh collaborations and a focus on melody and atmosphere.
