Sunday Jamsession | Hosted by Leon Groeneveld

Every Sunday, Poppodium Phoenix hosts an open jam session from 18:00 to 23:00 (venue open until midnight). Entry is free, and musicians of all levels, genres and ages are welcome to take the stage.

Want to join in? Sign up with the session leader - they'll connect you with other musicians and help you onto the stage, whether you want to play a cover or prefer to improvise. You can bring your own instrument, but there are also pianos, keyboards, microphones, guitars, bass guitars, drum kits, percussion and a double bass available.

This week Leon Groeneveld is the session leader. You may know him from The Neil Diamond Project, which reached the final of The Tribute: Battle of the Bands on national television, or from Time Bandits with Alides Hidding. With his new band MIEKS, he's currently performing regularly. Leon has been playing piano and keyboards since his youth - his first performance was for over 1,000 people at an Elvis meeting in Autotron. Since then he's played shows for audiences up to 15,000 and shared the stage with Nena, Human League and Nick Kershaw.
