Carel Kraayenhof & Matangi Quartet - Maestro Morricone

Carel Kraayenhof brings his Maestro Morricone tour to Openluchttheater Valkenburg aan de Geul on Sunday, 6 September. The bandoneon player performs with the Matangi Quartet, exploring works by Ennio Morricone, Astor Piazzolla, Philip Glass and Nino Rota - an evening of cinematic classical music set against the natural limestone walls of the quarry beside Valkenburg castle. This is one of eight Dutch dates on which Kraayenhof presents this curated selection from Morricone's archive. The open-air theatre's distinctive acoustics, shaped by the steep rock faces surrounding the stage, create a distinctive setting for the performance.
