Thijs Boontjes is an Amsterdam crooner operating somewhere between Dutch pop, nightlife and show-orchestra glam. Since 2015 he has built his own repertoire, with two albums (Geen Achttien Meer and Dancing Boontjes), several EPs and a series of singles. He has already made his mark on stages like Pinkpop and Zwarte Cross.

His songs are seductive and sharp at once - bittersweet, more neon than daylight. He sings about dolce vita and dark edges, and pushes back against macho behaviour and small-minded thinking. With his Dance and Show Orchestra, an evening is on the programme that leans more towards the dance floor than a conventional concert hall.

In 2026, new Neder-Italo tracks are coming, preceded by a club tour this winter. Boontjes performs at the Burgerweeshuis in Deventer.
