The founder of both 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand, Edwards has built one of the most distinctive voices in gothic country and dark Americana - scripture-laden lyrics, acoustic and electric textures, and a baritone that seems to carry the weight of the American plains. In 2026 he returned to the stage with 16 Horsepower for the first time in over two decades, alongside the release of his second solo album.

16 Horsepower performed live for the first time in more than twenty years: the European reunion tour in May-June 2026 was largely sold out, including the shows in Amsterdam (Paradiso), Nijmegen (Doornroosje) and Groningen (De Oosterpoort).
