Rastaplas Presents: Rootman J & The Zionyouth Crew

On 20 November, Rastaplas in the City presents a pop-up show at De Kroepoekfabriek in Vlaardingen. Rastaplas is known for the annual reggae and dub festival in Zoetermeer and is now touring the country with a series of shows.

The headliner is Rootman J & The Zionyouth Crew, an international reggae act based in Belgium. The band combines roots, rock and reggae, drawing inspiration from Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, as well as The Beatles and Bob Dylan. Rootman J grew up in the mountains of West Africa, discovered music at age seven and later moved to Belgium, where he founded his band The Zionyouth Crew.

The band has previously played at festivals including Couleur Café, Zwarte Cross, Reggae Geel, Pukkelpop and Afro C, and shared the stage with the Marley family, Femi Kuti, Snoop Dogg and Shaggy.
