Memories (1995): Kaboom Anime

The Melkweg screens the anthology film Memories (1995) together with Kaboom Animation Festival on the big screen. The film consists of three short stories, all connected to director Katsuhiro Ōtomo (Akira, Steamboy).

Kōji Morimoto opens with Magnetic Rose, a space adventure with a psychological horror edge - and an opera. Tensai Okamura's Stink Bomb follows: a lighter episode about an unsuspecting walking weapon of mass destruction. Ōtomo himself closes with Cannon Fodder, about a world entirely built around cannons.

The Melkweg runs multiple programmes simultaneously, including concerts and club nights. Be aware that there may be sound overlap from other rooms during the screening.
