About: Mahsa Vahdat

Raised in Tehran and trained at its arts university, Mahsa Vahdat was pushed onto the international stage by Iran's ban on women singing solo in public. Her voice - steeped in the Iranian classical tradition and shaped by collaborations with musicians from many different cultures - turns each performance into a meeting between centuries-old Sufi texts and the present day.

The album Seeing was released in October 2024 on ECM Records - Gustavsen's tenth studio album with his trio, featuring Jarle Vespestad on drums and Steinar Raknes on double bass.
