What to do with that awful feeling?
Den Oever – Buurthuis De Kapel, Den Oever
On Monday 7 September, Buurthuis De Kapel in Den Oever hosts an accessible gathering during Suicide Prevention Week.
The evening focuses on that rotten feeling - the emptiness, loneliness, shame, loss or quiet exhaustion that anyone can experience. Thoughts that take up more and more space, a story that grows heavier. The organizer speaks as someone with lived experience: having been ill themselves, and having lost their best friend to suicide. Not to provide all the answers, but to become curious together about what that feeling actually tells us.
The programme begins with a body scan - slowing down and listening to your body - followed by a personal story, exercises, questions and conversation. You don't need to share anything, have no experience with suicidality, and it doesn't all have to make sense in your head yet. Curiosity about yourself is enough.
