Description was written before the event

The Hague-based singer Louise Alexandra performs with Rob van Bavel (piano), Vincent Koning (guitar), Jan Menu (saxophone), Frans van Geest (double bass) and Marcel Serierse (drums). The focus is on her album "Crazy World of Love", released this year, which combines jazz standards with new compositions by Rob van Bavel and Louise Alexandra. Louise wrote the lyrics for the new pieces; for several standards she also added vocalese texts. This concert is part of the Friday Night Jazz series at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in The Hague, made possible by the Stichting Jazz at the Club and Podium De Nieuwe Kamer. Tickets cost € 20.

Louise Alexandra is an American-Dutch singer, songwriter and biotech scientist researching cancer medicines. Based in Boston, she previously worked on two albums with American jazz musicians, with support from Rebecca Parris: "Destiny" (2012) and "Today" (2020). "Crazy World of Love" was recorded with Van Bavel, Koning, Van Geest, Serierse and Menu; it was released in March of this year.

Vincent Koning studied guitar at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and later at the Hilversum Conservatory, and is now a teacher himself. Throughout his career he has played with Scott Hamilton, Peter Beets, Joe Cohn, Philip Harper, Benny Bailey, Deborah Brown and Vincent Herring, among others.
