CODARTS BIGBAND + NILS VAN HAFTEN

The Codarts Bigband, founded by Bob Brookmeyer and Ab Schaap, has been led by Ilja Reijngoud for over 15 years. The ensemble brings together international talent from the Rotterdam Conservatory and has been a regular at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Over the years, the band has collaborated with guest soloists including Rick Margitza, Nelson Faria, Bert Joris and Maria Schneider, and performs jazz alongside Latin, Flamenco, Avant Garde, Syrian and Indian music.

For this concert, the bigband joins forces with Nils van Haften. Both Reijngoud and Van Haften have been connected to Codarts for decades and met as musicians in The Dutch Jazz Orchestra. Van Haften will perform several pieces from that orchestra's repertoire, including compositions by Rob Madna and Ab Schaap. The full line-up will be announced.
