The Doors were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore. Morrison took the band's name from Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception. Their 1967 debut album launched them to fame with "Light My Fire" and the sprawling "The End", making them one of the most influential and controversial acts of the 1960s. After Morrison's death in Paris in 1971, the remaining trio released two more albums before disbanding in 1973; the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.

The documentary 'The Doors: When You're Strange' was re-released in cinemas in December 2025, now in 4K and supplemented with a new worldwide performance of "Riders on the Storm" to mark the band's 60th anniversary.

To mark the band's 60th anniversary, 'Night Divides the Day', the first complete anthology book of The Doors, was released in a limited edition of 2,000 numbered boxsets, each signed by Densmore and Krieger.
