The Coincidences are a Dutch folk band from Bennekom in the Gelderse Vallei, founded in 2015. They play Irish-Celtic music - jigs, reels and ballads - on fiddle, banjo, accordion, guitar and bodhrán, drawing on both Irish and Scottish tradition. The band has performed in Amsterdam, Paris and The Hague, appeared at the Keltfest festival and the Scottish Weekend in Alden Biesen (Belgium), and have shared the stage with Irish artists Ger O'Donnell and Trevor Sexton.
The Coincidences are scheduled to perform on August 30, 2026 at Tuin de Lage Oorsprong in Oosterbeek.
On April 6, 2025, the band played in the Irene building of the Grote Kerk in Apeldoorn.
In 2025, the band released the single 'Ode to the Elements' (feat. Peter Eijsten).
In October 2023, the band performed at the Ericatheater in Ede, together with Irish guest artists Ger O'Donnell and Trevor Sexton.
On December 29, 2023, the band closed out the year with a performance at Mulligans Irish Music Bar in Amsterdam.
