Blood and Sun

Blood and Sun is a darkfolk project by Luke Tromiczak, performed with a rotating ensemble of musicians from the United States. The music weaves folk sorrow with the vastness of North America, spiritual intensity and a love for mythic-poetic worlds - carried by a deep voice, acoustic strings and the weight of existence.

Thematically, Blood and Sun moves between personal trials, metaphysical currents and the tragedy and heroism of life. The band has received international recognition for its dark, gothic songwriting.

Society of the Silver Cross

Society of the Silver Cross hails from Seattle and was founded by songwriters Joe Reineke and Karyn Gold-Reineke. Critics describe their sound as haunting, neo-folk, witchy and "yogic metal". The band draws from Indian musical traditions and combines harmonium and sarangi with twelve-string guitar, Hammond B3 organ and hypnotic vocals - a dark fusion of East and West.

Their most recent album "Festival of Invocations" (2024) was described by Rolling Stone as a sonic journey through otherworldly realms, and by SPIN as an eerie, hypnotic trip into a dark, cinematic world.

Linnea Hjertén

Linnea Hjertén is a Swedish singer-songwriter whose music emerges at the intersection of Swedish folk and ritual ambient. Her debut album "Nio systrar" ("Nine Sisters") is a wordless invocation of primal energy. On her latest album "Steg för steg" she alternates between folk, indie and subtle darkness, sung entirely in Swedish.

Hjertén describes her own intention thus: if I can bring someone to rest for a moment, comfort them, or lift them briefly from the material world to broaden their perspective, then I am doing what I am meant to do.
