Blood and Sun is an American dark folk project founded in 2011 by Luke Tromiczak, originally from Minneapolis and now based in Brooklyn, New York. Tromiczak writes all the music and performs it live with a rotating cast of musicians from across the United States. The songs weave acoustic strings and a deep baritone around themes of personal hardship, mythology and the raw expanse of the North American landscape. The project has earned international recognition for its gothic, poetic songwriting.
Blood and Sun released the single 'Heaven's Wings', the most recently registered release of the project.
Blood and Sun and Cradle of Judah released a joint split-release via Ixiol Productions and Hawthorn Records.
Blood and Sun toured through Europe together with Cradle of Judah, with performances in Paris, Berlin, Oslo, Copenhagen, Riga, Kaunas and Vilnius, among others.
The EP 'Ochre' was released on 31 March 2023, as a successor to the acclaimed album 'Love & Ashes' from 2020.
