Thrash and hardcore pioneers The Accüsed perform an extra show at Effenaar.
The Accüsed are a crossover thrash band from Seattle, Washington, founded in 1981. They coined the term 'splattercore' for their ferocious blend of hardcore punk and thrash metal, built around the recurring zombie mascot Martha Splatterhead. Their 1986 debut *The Return of Martha Splatterhead* is a landmark of the genre, and the band is widely credited as a key progenitor of the crossover style that later influenced grindcore and crust punk. After an eleven-year hiatus they reformed in 2003 and have remained active since.
Unrest Records released reissues of classic The Accüsed albums on vinyl in 2024.
