Tamikrest
Tuareg rock band Tamikrest performs in Eindhoven.
Tamikrest is a Tuareg band founded in 2006 in Tinzawaten, on the Mali-Algeria border, by guitarist and vocalist Ousmane Ag Mossa and two co-founders. Singing in Tamasheq, they weave traditional desert music with psychedelic rock and blues, channelling the struggles and exile of the Kel Tamasheq people. The 2013 album Chatma brought international recognition and a Songlines Award for Best Album of the Year; their sixth studio album, Assikel, followed in May 2026.
Tamikrest released their sixth studio album Assikel on May 15, 2026 via Glitterbeat Records, recorded on analog tape with the band live in the studio.
The single 'Adagh Oyantid' was released in early 2026 as a precursor to the Assikel album cycle.
On Assikel, Tamikrest collaborates with Ibrahim Ag Alhabib from Tinariwen.
Tamikrest toured through Europe in May and June 2026 with performances in Paris, Leeds, London and Manchester as part of the Assikel tour.
A performance in Haarlem (Patronaat) is scheduled for October 14, 2026.
