Rob Chrispijn

About

Rob Chrispijn (Vienna, 25 November 1944) is a Dutch lyricist, producer and mycologist who has shaped Dutch chanson and cabaret for six decades. Growing up in Amsterdam, he made his name with a free translation of Leonard Cohen's 'Suzanne' for Herman van Veen, and went on to write for Liesbeth List, Hans Dorrestijn and many others. Alongside his work in the performing arts he became a serious mycologist - former chair of the Nederlandse Mycologische Vereniging - and published several books on fungi, including *Champignons in de Jordaan* (1999) and *Paddenstoelengeluk* (2018). In 2010 he was appointed Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his exceptional contribution to Dutch cabaret.
