Northcote is the project of Canadian singer-songwriter Matt Goud, originally from Saskatchewan and based in Victoria, British Columbia. After years playing guitar in the post-hardcore band Means, Goud launched Northcote in 2009, building a sound that weaves folk and Americana with the directness of punk. More than a thousand shows across North America and Europe - alongside The Gaslight Anthem, Frank Turner and Hot Water Music - have earned him a devoted following on both continents. His eighth studio album, To Cherish, was released in 2026, produced by Jesse Gander in Vancouver.
Northcote released the album To Cherish on June 12, 2026, recorded at Rain City Recorders in Vancouver and produced by Jesse Gander.
After the release of To Cherish, Northcote went on a Canadian tour, with plans for an American and European tour later in 2026.
Northcote announced To Cherish with the single 'Alternate Universe', inspired by processing a divorce.
Northcote performed in Frankfurt in January 2025 as support for Chuck Ragan & the Camaraderie during a European tour.
Northcote released the album Wholeheart on March 17, 2023, followed by a live EP in November of that year.
