Mamas Gun are a five-piece British soul band founded in London in 2007 by singer-songwriter Andy Platts. Drawing on soul, funk and R&B, the band is known for a warm, analogue sound built on deep grooves and tight vocal harmonies. Their sixth studio album DIG! (2026) was recorded live to 16-track tape and features a collaboration with Brian Jackson, the legendary keyboardist and flautist best known for his work with Gil Scott-Heron. Platts also records and tours as one half of the West Coast-soul duo Young Gun Silver Fox.
The sixth studio album DIG! was released on April 10, 2026 via Candelion Records, recorded on 16-track analogue tape at All Things Analogue Studios in Leeds.
The title track 'DIG!' was released as a single, featuring a guest contribution from Brian Jackson - the legendary keyboardist and flutist known for his collaboration with Gil Scott-Heron.
Mamas Gun announced a Dutch spring tour 2026 with shows in Tilburg (013), Groningen (De Oosterpoort) and Amsterdam (Paradiso), coinciding with the release of the new single 'Food For The Flames'.
The Légère Edition of DIG! was released on April 10, 2026 as an exclusive vinyl edition without digital download, released via Légère Recordings.
