Iron Maiden are a British heavy metal band founded in London in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris. Albums such as The Number of the Beast and Powerslave established them as one of the genre's defining acts, while their mascot Eddie and elaborate stage productions have become inseparable from their identity.
Iron Maiden announced in February 2026 shows in Oceania and Japan as the conclusion of the Run for Your Lives tour, after which the band will take a break from touring in 2027.
In December 2025, the band expanded the tour further with a series of shows in Central and South America in October 2026.
Due to high demand, Iron Maiden added extra North American dates to the Run for Your Lives tour in October 2025, with Megadeth and Anthrax as support.
In September 2025, the band announced that their Paris show on 22 June 2026 will be filmed for a possible future release.
Drummer Nicko McBrain announced his retirement from touring on 7 December 2024; Simon Dawson, who has been drummer for Steve Harris' British Lion for years, was presented as his successor the next day.
