Anvil is a Canadian heavy metal band from Toronto, formed in 1978. They gained widespread recognition through the 2008 documentary 'Anvil! The Story of Anvil', which chronicled their long pursuit of success. Records like Metal on Metal (1982) and Forged in Fire (1983) are considered influential milestones in early heavy metal and thrash.
